On September 19, 2006 in Rennes - "Roadmap Day" on which those involved in the seven themes of the Media and Networks Cluster were invited to meet to update the roadmaps - the participants and, more generally, the Cluster members, were invited to a visit to IRISA.
Around thirty participants took up the opportunity of the visit which included presentations by those involved in the Cluster on the following subject areas:
Visit program:
- Presentation of Media and Images Cluster
- Presentation of IRISA
- Presentation and demonstration of multimedia indexing: New methods for the intelligent use of video streaming
- Presentation: Protocol interoperability testing (IPV6) and international certification activities
- Presentation and demonstration: "Virtual human and 3D interaction"
- Visit of technical facilities: Grid and Imersia (demonstrations of virtual reality applications)

This visit was carried out as part of the regular visits offered free of charge to all cluster members. These are organized in the laboratories and companies of the cluster members with the aim of having one visit per month across the full area covered by the cluster, namely Brittany and Pays de la Loire.
