R&D projects that receive European financing of several billion euros per year are eligible according to the themes that group the 7 challenges for consortia containing at least 3 legal entities from 3 different countries.
In 2007 the traditional grant rate of 50% from the 6th PCRD has been maintained. There is an increase to 75% for SMEs and public research entities.
The Commission looks for relative growth in the SMEs: established at 16% in 2002 and then 23% in 2006.
France needs to increase the participation of its SMEs in order to maintain the success of the program.
There are several calls to projects scheduled in the 2007 agenda. The first is in May 2007 for a project contractualization starting in 2008.
