The project Distrim@ges (axis 4 of the pole) after one year of work has a first version of its platform of television on IP in conformity with standard DVB-IPTV (ETSI TS 102.034).
In collaboration with the project office DVB, which wished to propose this shutter of standardization DVB, we envisaged and organized a demonstration of interworking DVB-IPTV which will take place on the stand of DVB (1.481) during living room IBC 2007 September beginning in Amsterdam.
This demonstration aims at showing the capacity of standard DVB to allow interworking between various manufacturers (it is not the case on the current market), and illustrates the technical possibilities included in the specification: passage on the scale for million simultaneous users, quality of service (of which management of the losses of video package).
The Distrim@ges project will be the principal contributor of this demonstration of which we ensure technical coordination. We would have with us only the principal elements of this demonstration, but the participation of third suppliers will make it possible to better illustrate the opening permitted by the standard. We will thus have Set Signal Boxings of 3 different manufacturers connected on the same platform.
This event proposes the capacity of the Breton actors to provide products compatible with this standard and our strong implication in standardization. It is the first time that a demonstration of this width will be carried out on the subject.
